This past week, West Virginia’s iconic Greenbrier Hotel became a playground for the fashionable and glamorous. It’s an out-of-the-way locale, sure (the Dorothy Draper-designed hotel is not nearby an airport) but the journey is more than worth it—especially when it’s done in the name of fashion.
American luxury handbag brand, Bienen Davis, and brand muse, Aureta played host to a group of friends at the resort to celebrate their latest collaboration together. Inspired by Aureta’s recent Kenyan Safari, the collection of handbags boasts safari prints crafted by Swarovski crystals, vibrant colors, and amusing shapes. “We joined forces to design a wild collection honoring the natural world. When it came time to pick a venue to celebrate the launch, I knew we needed something just as iconic as Bienen Davis,” Aureta said. Amid the hotel’s signature interior, initially designed by Draper in the 1940s, the handbags felt right at home.
While there, guests got to partake in an indulgent adventure, exploring the various rooms of the ornate home and partaking in the aristocratic tradition of lounging around in ball gowns and dinner suits.
And, of course, the dinner set up matched their environment. Florals by Gary Rushing blossomed throughout the room, and a tablescape curated by Adrienne French caused eyes to wander endlessly. It was a fête where crystals shined, and gowns flowed—a beacon of opulent Americana.
