Kentucky State University basketball player Aminata Seck is hospitalized after having seizures while in ICE custody, according to reports.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Seck last month when she arrived at the airport in Louisville to fly to New York for a tournament. Seck, 26, is from Dakar, Senegal. Her attorney, Hishem Alsalman, said on social media that she entered the United States on a student visa.
Seck has been in detention for weeks and was transferred to four different facilities since August, according to a report by Front Office Sports. After word of her arrest spread on social media, she suffered seizures and was moved to a hospital.
The Department of Homeland Security said Seck will stay in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
