Alabama says its Saturday football game against Georgia remains scheduled as planned while officials monitor Tropical Storm Isaias.
As a potential hurricane in the Gulf develops, the Alabama Crimson Tide announced that its Saturday football game against the Georgia Bulldogs in Tuscaloosa is currently set to be played as scheduled.
The Southeastern Conference released a statement about the potential storm and is tracking forecasts ahead of the matchup. The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to face the No. 6 Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Oct. 10, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. The contest marks the second time in three years that Alabama will host Georgia in Tuscaloosa.
A tropical storm in the Gulf, identified as Tropical Storm Isaias, has prompted weather concerns with substantial rain in the forecast. United States President Donald Trump is slated to attend the game, while ESPN’s College GameDay and Nick Saban are scheduled to broadcast from the quad on Saturday morning.
Despite discussions among meteorologists and fans over whether the game could face delays or postponement, Georgia senior Peyton Woodring said the Tuscaloosa forecast isn’t a concern after playing through various conditions over four years in Athens.
