Country music singer Ella Langley notched her 23rd week atop the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Mariah Carey for the longest-running No. 1 song in the chart’s history.
Country music singer Ella Langley broke the Billboard Hot 100 record this week when her single “Choosin’ Texas” logged its 23rd week at No. 1, Fox News reported.
The achievement moves Langley past Mariah Carey’s holiday track “All I Want for Christmas Is You” to claim the longest-running No. 1 song in the chart’s history. “Choosin’ Texas” originally entered the Hot 100 in November 2025, became Langley’s first top-10 hit in January, and reached No. 1 for the first time in February.
Langley celebrated the milestone on Instagram on Tuesday night. “I’m genuinely trying to find the words to explain what’s going on in my brain today,” she said in a video, thanking listeners for supporting the music. “It’s changing my life. It’s changing the lives of the writers of this song. It’s changing the lives of my family, and it is truly growing an atmosphere for something I’m gonna be able to do the rest of my life and I just… today doesn’t feel like a real thing.” She added, “It feels fake and somebody’s going to come in and be like ‘haha we’re kidding the whole time just kidding.'”
On Wednesday, Langley posted a TikTok video showing herself handling exotic animals. In the clip, she sat on a couch next to a baby kangaroo, had a parrot on her shoulder, and allowed an Argentine boa constrictor to wrap around her shoulders. “This is facing my fears a little bit,” Langley said, before holding a lemur at the end of the video and saying, “I love today.”
Langley also drew attention off the charts after The Big Lead confirmed that she and country music singer Tucker Wetmore are dating following a night out in Nashville, resolving nearly a year of romance rumors online.
