Akash Madhwal attended Roorkee Public Senior Secondary School in Uttarakhand for his basic and secondary school.
In 2016, he enrolled there to pursue a degree in civil engineering, and he was able to do so.

On December 25, 2019, he played his maiden game for Uttarakhand in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy.
On February 21, 2021, he made his List A debut for Uttarakhand in the 2020–2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He was appointed captain of the Uttarakhand T20 team before the domestic season of 2023.
