Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss Sunday’s game with a dislocated left elbow, but the team has not discussed placing him on injured reserve.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will avoid surgery after dislocating his left elbow, general manager Adam Peters said Friday. The jayden daniels injury occurred on the final play of the first half during Washington’s 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2.
Peters delivered a jayden daniels injury update Friday morning on 106.7 The Fan. ‘As of right now, surgery is not on the table, and we haven’t discussed IR,’ Peters said. Daniels returned to Washington late Thursday night and met with team officials on Friday. A return to the field within the next month remains a possibility.
The jayden daniels elbow injury will sideline the quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Veteran backup Marcus Mariota will start under center for Washington, which enters Week 3 at 0-2 against the defending Super Bowl champions.
Sunday’s absence will mark the 11th game Daniels has missed because of injury since the start of the 2025 season. He previously sustained the same dislocated elbow injury last season. Washington head coach Dan Quinn also announced safety Nick Cross will be out Sunday.
