The Royal Weeding of the Dragon King of Bhutan

The king of a tiny kingdom, Bhutan, has to be married on Thursday with Jetsun Pema, the new queen of Bhutan. After the married, King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangehuck took her queen in his castle.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangehuck and bride Jetsun Pema’s, 21, weeding party held on in a traditional Bhutanese ceremony in the capital of Ponakha.

Bhutan new Queen Pema (soon to be known as Ashi Jetsun Pema Wangchuck) was complete her education in London and her interests include fine art and basketball, according to the palace at the time the bachelor king Jigme’s marriage was announced in May.

The king Jigma is adored by his subjects from Oxford, having adopted a staunch anti-globalization stance, vowing to protect Bhutan’s culture from the corrupting influences seeping in from the outside world.

In the historical Punakha Dzong, the wedding will reportedly take place. This is the same venue that hosted the King’s historical coronation ceremony in last 2008.
