Wendys High School Heisman Award recognizes nation’s most esteemed high school Seniors

This year’s national finalists for Wendy’s High School Heisman Award will be taken to New York City for Heisman Weekend and the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award Banquet on December 7. The two national winners will be announced live nationally on ESPN2. The Wendy’s High School Heisman Program was started in 1994 to help change the lives of thousands of scholar athletes every year. So far they have honoured more than 400 000 high school seniors, with 6200 nominations submitted already on the first year.

To be eligible for nomination, among other things, the senior needs to participate in at least one sport. Wendy’s High School Heisman Award was named after John Heisman, former college football player and coach, and is there to honour the most esteemed high school seniors every year, people who excel in athletics as well as academics, who are active in the community.
