Piesie Esther is in a buoyant mood ahead of the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which is scheduled for today, May 6, 2023.
While fans are anticipating a battle between Black Sherif and Piesie Esther, who are competing for the top prize, at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Piesie Esther has shared her sentiments about the euphoria surrounding the support she is getting to win the Artist of the Year.
Remember that this year’s Artist of the Year category is made up of Piesie Esthe, Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, and Joe Mettle.

This award is the highest honour given out at the VGMAs. Piesie Esther claims that despite what some critics assume, she is not keen to gain accolades because Christians and some gospel functionaries are pushing her to win the top prize.
George Nii Armah Quaye thinks the ongoing campaign centred on the aforementioned is deftly planned to persuade the VGMA Board that Piesie Esther deserves to win the prized award in order to achieve this.
However, in response to the assertion, Piesie Esther firmly declared that the accusation by George Quaye cannot be accepted and added that she is not yearning for an award in an interview with Power FM and culled by Tru News Report.
“We are doing this to show concerns that we are impressed with what is going on and we would be happy if we win it. But the way he said it, looks as if we are desperate to win. Trust me, I’m not desperate I must win the award by hook or crook.” Piesie Esther said.
She claims that she has already received the award spiritually from God. She added that the campaign is a means for her to use her music to share the Gospel, particularly in locations where people may not be familiar with her.
